The Thing With Feathers - Toronto Star book review article

You and a partner read the interview with Noah Stryker on his book - The Thing With Feathers.  I have attached a copy of the article and a video on the link below.  The gr. 5 and 6 students are to refer to the article when completing their assignments:
Gr. 5 - Compare the digestive system of a turkey vulture to the digestive system of a human being.  Use the animation of the human digestive system below as well and any background research you feel is necessary.
Gr. 6 - Tie in the life of a specific bird to biodiversity.

The difference between human and turkey vulture digestive system is that the turkey vulture's digestive system is much more strong and have a cast-iron digestive system. It can digest many types of harmful chemicals and food and still not be affected. Apparently, turkey vultures can even digest anthrax spores without catching the disease. Unlike human digestive systems, turkey vulture digestive systems can kill bacteria as soon as it passes through the digestive tract.

There are many differences from the turkey vultures and the humans digestive system, one being that turkey vultures have a really strong stomach.Without being harmed they can digest some pretty harmful things.

Turkeys have a cast-iron digestive system witch lets them eat some pretty weird things, where humans can't. We would probably die or get sick if you swallowed a bad chemical or rotten food. turkey vultures systems can take the bacteria from the food, and kill it before it can harm them.
