There's a Blood Moon Rising

Why do you suppose there are so many superstitions surrounding the moon? Watch the above video clip about the Blood Moons and listen to the song Bad Moon Rising. How do science and superstition differ in respect to the moon?

In superstition, they don't really respect the moon that much, it stands for a bad omen of blood (because the moon is red, and red stands for blood usually, and it means violence or war. I think that there are lots of suspicions because the red looks like blood.
Meanwhile, science says that the blood moon is created by the lunar eclipse and the light reflects off our Earth and makes the light of our sunsets and sunrises reflect off to the moon, producing the reddish-orange hue that shines from the moon during an eclipse.
Science gives more respect to the moon than superstition.

My mom is going to look for the red moon tonight and wake me up if she sees it. Unfortunately, it is supposed to be cloudy, so we might not be able see it.

I forgot to set my alarm at 3:00 to see the moon, I wish I could see it, I never saw a solar or lunar eclipse before.
