First of all, I did suspect Maxine as the culprit.
I honestly didn't learn anything new from this video. I already now I good amount about forensics since I took a Forensics course 2 years ago, during the summer.
The mystery novel I am reading does not use forensic science, but uses something (kind-of) similar.
In the book, Neil Flambe uses his super-sensitive nose to track Isabella (who was captured,) and this ends up leading him to her and a Aztec conspiracy.
I have not read a book with Forensic science, but I have watched shows such as 'Bones,' 'C.S.I Miami,' and many others. In the show 'C.S.I: Miami,' there are many cases that require Forensics, from scanning fingerprints to solve a murder, or scanning a body to get an autopsy. Heck, C.S.I stands for 'Crime Scene Investigation!'
As I said before, I do have some experience with Forensic science. For one, last year we did some Forensic science for the case of Bo Peep's Sheep. I also took a Summer course on Forensic science. :D

I learned that you can use ink to identify footprints, and that anything (even pens) can be evidence.
I don't know if my mystery book has forensic science in it, because I'm not that far in yet.
I have watched a bunch of mystery movies, but the only one I can think of right now is a Nancy Drew one, and I forget the title. It used forensic science because someone had murdered a famous actor, and she had to find out who. She ended up proving it by taping the person who did it, without them knowing. I really don't remember much else because I haven't seen it in a while.
I do not have any experience with forensic science. The only things I ever had to solve were at home, and my sister, Emily, was responsible for all of them.

I did suspect Maxine as the person who stole the mask, because she had the most check marks on the board, so I thought she was the culprit. I learned that to catch a criminal, you need some items or DNA of theirs, like one of the suspects own things, like finger prints, shoes, hair, saliva or other things like that. You also need some science materials like microscope or a computer to look at the little things like saliva, blood of any other thing.

I did suspect Maxine as the culprit, except only after the girls found out that the footprints had owls on them, and that Maxine was one of the people the shoes belonged to.

I honestly did think that it was Maxine, I don't know why, I just had a bad feeling about her.
I am not sure if my book has forensic science because I am not that far.
I have not read a forensic science book, tv show, movie, etc but now I really want to.
I have some experience with forensic science when last year we did the "Who stole Bo Peep's sheep?".

Originally, I thought Jeb was the perpetrator but as we went through the video I started to suspect Luna. Only when they found the glitter on her shoe did I think it was Maxine.
I didn't learn anything from the video except for the ink trick, I didn't know that you could see the colour in ink!
I have read books, movies and shows on forensic science. I watch sometimes 'Hunting Bigfoot' with my brothers.
The book I am reading in class does not yet have a mystery in it so I do not know if it uses forensic science. I don't think it will use forensic science because the book sounds like it is more no evidence left behind.
I have never used forensic science before but I would like to.

When the video was playing, I suspected Maxine, then Luna, and then I finally chose Maxine, as my culprit. Frome the video, I learned that when solving a crime, you have to be organized, and know where everything that you need is, or else, you could lose very importanyt things, and I think that the 'Sci Girls' were very organized, indeed. The mystery novel that I'm reading ( The Westing Game ) does not involve any use of forensic science. I have never, ever read, heard, or seen any book, movie, or TV show that involved the use of forensic science. ( SORRY!) I have had experience with forensic science before, but only from this classroom, with our activities on forensic science.

I knew about forensic science but i didn't know that it was called forensic science though I know bad:(I have seen a T.V show on discovery that teached you about forensic science.

I also already learned about forensic science last year for the Bo Peep thing.

Oh, i forgot to say that my book did not have any forensic science.

No, at the beginning of the video I did not think that Maxine was the culprit. I thought it was Ray Raven, the heir to the camp. When he was talking about where he was the night before, he seemed like he was lying.
I didn’t learn very much about forensics in the video, besides when they were analyzing the suspects’ shoe prints on the clear paper to the evidence footprints. I hadn’t heard of doing that, but it make perfect sense why to.
The mystery novel that I am reading is long, and so I haven’t got into the mystery yet. I don’t think that forensic science will be use to solve the mystery, since it doesn’t seem to be about a crime or anything like that.
No, I do not remember reading a book, seeing a t.v. show or watching a movie which used forensic science.
No, I do not have any experience with forensic science.

Yes I did suspect Maxine since I saw her shoes that matched and glitter on the shoe. also I already had some experience in the field, I went to a forensics camp with Sam actually the summer before I came to this school and like Aidan said also with Bo Peeps sheep last year. so far I have yet to read a book with forensic science (including my literature circle book) though I have seen tv shows like 'Bones' and so forth

Part 2
I also thought it was Maxine because of the way she made that reeeeeally weird face in the picture of all of the suspects, in the beginning of the video.

Open the link below and watch the video. Did you suspect the culprit?
No, at the beginning of the video, i thought it was Ray, just by the way how he looked and acted. Then I thought it was Jeb, and lastly, I thought it was Maxine, right after the shoe incident.
Watch the Super Sleuths video below. What did you learn about forensics from the video? Post your responses.
I didn’t learn anything about forensics from the video, other than the “shoe on the clear piece of plastic” trick. The reason is that I went to a forensics camp (where one of the council members was a “murderer”), and also we did some forensics in class last year.
Does the mystery novel you are reading involve the use of forensic science? Have you ever read a book, seen a t.v. show, or watched a movie which used forensic science? Explain.
I can’t remember any book I’ve read with forensics in it, but I’m pretty sure that I watched a T.V. show, though. I think that the police were showing a robbery or something. Also, I just watched the video below, which is all about forensics.
Do you have any experience with forensic science? Explain.
Like I said above, “I went to a forensics camp (where one of the council members was a “murderer”), and also we did some forensics in class last year.”- Myself

PS I love Aidan’s detective name. :)

I learned several things about forensic sience that I did not know before, including how you can test to see if foot prints found at a crime scene match the foot prints of a suspect. My lit. circle book "Who's Got Gertie? And How Can We Get Her Back!" does involve some forensics, but mostly observing rather then science. I have read/watched A LOT of books and (mostly) movies that involve forensic science. One of these movies/shows was Agatha Christie's Poiret, which involves a fair bit of going to the lab to test a drink (or pills) that is suspected of having contianed the poison.

Well first of all I did not learn a lot from this video. the past couple of years in my old school we did a lot on , and somethings I got from just being on the internet for assignments. One thing I did learn from this video was how you can tell the different types of pen marks.
The mystery novel I am reading does not have any forensics in it.

I don't recall reading a book with forensics in it but I have seen "bones" like Aidan mentioned.
Like I said I do know about forensics, but I have rarely done experiments on them. Well that is true I would like to do some forensics, it sounds fun

Q:What did you learn about forensics in the video?
A:What I learned about forensics in the video was that if you find (for example) fingerprints or shoe prints or even saliva, you can track down who the culprit was. Fingerprints is the most useful because nobody has the same fingerprint, so if you find one you can see if it matches another one then track that person down. Saliva is also really useful because saliva has the DNA of a person and nobody has the same DNA
(except twins). Shoe prints could also work (not so well) because whatever the shoe print is you could track down who it was. The downside is lots of people must have those type of shoes. Another good one is hand writing. If the culprit wrote anything down it might have been in their handwriting.
Q:Does the mystery novel you are reading involve the use of forensic science?
A:The mystery novel I am reading does not involve the use of forensic science because it is a book about some kids who just play this really cool game called "The Egypt Game" and they don't use any type of forensic science.
Q:Have you ever read a book, seen a T.V. show, or watched a movie which used forensic science?
A:Yes. Like other people I have watched a bit of C.S.I. Miami which is about just solving mystery's from a robbing to a murder. That personally I think is the only show/movie that I think has forensic science in it.
Q:Do you have any experience with forensic science?
A:No I don't have any experience with forensic science but I would like to!
After a while I could already tell that Maxine was the culprit. Once I noticed all the clues leading to her I knew it.

What I learned about forensics is that glitter are different and very complex. I also learned that you can find out what pen they used by making dots on it and then putting it in water.
No, my book does not involve forensics. I also don’t think that I watched a movie or T.V show about forensics science.
I kind of have experience with forensics. I have this microscope at home that comes with an example of different types of DNA. But I don’t use it that much.
P.S I kind of thought that it was Maxine, by the face she made in the picture.

First off: yes I did think maxine was the culprit because of all the evidence against her. ( As for the other video, i totally did not expect a bunny.)
I learned from this video that forensic science is the investigation of things from the past. Althought i've never ever used forensic science, i know it's cool to use the ink from a pen to distinguish it from another pen. Even though my book has no forensic science, i've seen this tv show use it. Something about an animated dog and this team of kids who sometimes do forensic science to accomplish the challenge. Even though i don't remember this show that much, I know they used it, it's just when they used it i can't remember that well. I think they used it in an episode when the dog's thing was stolen and they used forensic science to win the challenge. Even though I don't remember when i've used it, i'm pretty sure i've had. Not to solve a mystery or anything, but to make imprints in kindergarden with our hands with paint. Even though the imprints had our names on it, i'm pretty sure that's forensic science... Right?

Hi I'm Ronan said...

Oh I forgot to add, I did suspect Maxine to be the culprit later into the show

I have actually seen the video on TV, so I have seen forensic science on TV before. And my mystery novel, The Dragon Children, does not have forensic science in it. Well, not yet at least. When I first saw the show, I had know idea what forensic science was. I also knew it was Maxine as soon as I saw the glitter on her shoes.

I suspected Maxine as the suspect, I did learn a lot of things about forensic science, I did not really know that much in forensics.
The mystery novel I am reading (When You Reach Me) does not have forensic science although it does have science. Inside the book, Miranda's friend Sal gets punched and there is time travel in the book, which is science fiction, but there is no forensics, they already know who punched Sal.
I have read only 1 book, although I can not remember the name, that has forensics inside it. It was a book where there were a lot of crimes and mysteries, and they give you clues and you declare who is guilty or not on each scene.
I don't really have that much experience with forensic science until now.
