Where in the world.....

A Clue - “HERE LIE THE EARTHLY REMAINS OF A BRAVE AND VIRTUOUS HERO, MAJOR-GENERAL SIR ISAAC BROCK, COMMANDER OF THE BRITISH FORCES, AND PRESIDENT ADMINISTERING THE GOVERNMENT OF UPPER CANADA, WHO FELL WHEN GLORIOUSLY ENGAGING THE ENEMIES OF HIS COUNTRY, AT THE HEAD OF THE FLANK COMPANIES OF THE 49TH REGIMENT IN THE TOWN OF QUEENSTON, ON THE MORNING OF THE 13TH OCTOBER, 1812 AGED 42 YEARS"

Where in the world

Taylor Wilson

Brocks monument

-He is a Canadian war hero

-his full name is sir Isaac Brock

-The monument nis 56 metres tall

-Brock died when shot in the chest on the day of october 13th 1812

-on april 14th 1840 the monument was bombed and had large damage the monument was reconstructed in 1852.

-his remains were buried under the monument and later removed and brought to a cemitary in hamilton.

-On his coffin 2 large ovals say:
“HERE LIE THE EARTHLY REMAINS OF A BRAVE AND VIRTUOUS HERO, MAJOR-GENERAL SIR ISAAC BROCK, COMMANDER OF THE BRITISH FORCES, AND PRESIDENT ADMINISTERING THE GOVERNMENT OF UPPER CANADA, WHO FELL WHEN GLORIOUSLY ENGAGING THE ENEMIES OF HIS COUNTRY, AT THE HEAD OF THE FLANK COMPANIES OF THE 49TH REGIMENT IN THE TOWN OF QUEENSTON, ON THE MORNING OF THE 13TH OCTOBER, 1812 AGED 42 YEARS

IN 1929 Brocks statue was hit by a lightning strike and was damaged.

Mabye you should not post your where in the world here because someone can just copy the facts, and like Mrs. O'Hara said "I don't mind if you can find it, I want to know if you can research it." But is does save paper so thats good!!
This statue is so interesting! I finished by where in the world yesterday but forgot it at home, anyway it is extremely interesting!! I loved the history!!!!

This statue is truly astounding I have never been so interested in the history behind one of our where in the worlds, is Brock university named after Isaac Brock?? Anyways since it is located in Ontario I definately know where I will be going on my next road trip! But I think the statue is so positively intreauging because it is about a Canadian hero who will forever be in our memoriesas a wonderful man.
