I think that when Linus said "The angel told them, 'Fear not'" Linus was quoting the bible. When he said "Glory to god in the highest" he meant at Christmas we give thanks to God and praise him, for he brought Jesus to the world, and was the creator of Christmas. I personally like the message because that is the true meaning of Christmas
"an angel came down apon the shephards" and told them to go to the stable where baby jesus is, so basically he is saying that christmas is jesus's birth.
My oppinion about his message is that it is ment for children watching this to be confused, by using words like "tidings" and other non kid friendly words, but more importantly it supports christianity.
Linus said, " Born unto you is a saviour t'is christ the lord, and out of the heavens came a choir of angels and they sang 'glory to god in the highest and on earth peace towards men." I think it means that Christmas is all about Jesus Christ (Christ = Jesus + mas = birthday = Christmas Jesus' birthday) the saviour was born and all men will be in peace not shopping or toys just Jesus as Linus said " You will find him wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." Jesus wasn't rich. That's what christmas is all about.
I think what Linus is trying to say is that Christmas isn't about what presents you get or how pretty your tree is. He says, "Born this day in the city of David a savior which is Christ the Lord." So what he's try to say is that Christmas is about Jesus and not presents. I already knew that though for two reasons: It's common sense and my younger sister has been mentioning that for weeks. I think it is a very smart message and some people need to hear that because sometimes people just think "Yay! Christmas! I want presents and money!" I know this because I have thought that before. Only once though.
I assume that when Linus was quoting the Bible, with words like 'The Angel told them, fear not.'. I think his meesge is true at heart, and is very strong. (:
Linus said, "Glory to God in the highest." I think this means that we should praise God and think of him as our king. Another phrase Linus says is, "The angel of the lord came upon them." This phrase is holy because it explains how the angel came down from heaven and told Mary she was going to have the child and to name him Jesus. My opinion on Linus' message is that it is a wonderful message because he is spreading the word of the lord and getting everybody to have a good spirit.
The true meaning of Christmas to me: I think Christmas is not about the presents, cookies or even Santa Claus. I think it is about spending time with your family and celebrating the birth of our lord...Jesus Christ. -Aidan
Linus Said "That the angel said to the shepereds. Behold I give you tidings of great joy. In the city of David, A saviour Christ the Lord. You shall find this baby in a manger. Glory to God in the highest and on earth paece, good will to our men." Linus is saying that the real meaning of hristmas is that Christ the Lord, Jesus, is born! Everyone thinks it's about the presents. But your just greedy then!
Linus' message about Christmas was that jesus was born christmas day and that Christmas isn't about presents but it's about Jesus' birth. when Linus told him that the angel said "fear not, for I bring tidings of great joy" he was qouting the bible. my opinion on Linus' message that it was very good but he didn't tell the whole story, but, it is the true meaning of Chrismas.
Linus`s message about the true meaning of Christmas is that "Behold, I give you tidings of great joy!" Linus is probably saying that Jesus Christ the Lord is born and Christmas is about spending time with family and celebrating Jesus`birthday!
