What style of dance does Lil Buck perform?
Lil Buck performs Memphis Jookin', a type of dance originating from the streets of Memphis.
How difficult do you think his dance style would be to learn?
I think it would be very hard for me to learn, since my feet are rigid, I can't move them that fluidly for Jookin'. I maybe could do it with a lot of practice, but I doubt it would be easy for me.
What is your opinion of his style of dance and how did ballet influence him?
His style of dance is very creative and original. He adds most of his own movements in between the pattern that Jookin' has. Ballet brings in some of those very fluid motions and twirls into Jookin'. I think that ballet greatly influenced his style of Jookin', and made it more fluid then it normally would be.
What is Lil Buck's response to the question: What does it take to be an innovator?
He said that it just takes a "vivid imagination, drive, um just a passion for what you do." He also mentioned that you just need to make new things along the way.

A: Lil Buck performs the style of dance “Jookin.”
Q #2: How difficult do you think his dance style would be to learn?
A: I think Jookin would be very hard to learn. It would probably take me like, a million years to be even be decent at Jookin. It looks very hard to learn. Lil Buck has a gift to move like that. Like one of news people said, “Does he have any bones in his body? It’s amazing how he just glides!”
Q #3: What is your opinion of his style of dance and how did ballet influence him?
A: Well I think Jookin is very cool, interesting, unique, and definitely takes talent. It takes a whole lot of talent! In my opinion, I think’s it’s cool that Lil Buck combines Jookin with music from a cello, trumpet, all sorts of instruments, and ballet music, but if I could do Jookin, that wouldn't be my first choice. I would probably stick to rap and hip-hop. I'm not saying I don’t like how Lil Buck mixed ballet with hip-hop, it’s that, like I said before, it wouldn't be my first choice.
When Lil Buck was in high school, a teacher told him to take ballet to improve his strength. Ballet totally influenced him. When you think about it, in terms of movement, Jookin is a bit similar to ballet. You need to be flexible and really feel the music. As Lil Buck said, “I'm influenced by all sounds… period.”
He practiced ballet and remembered that one time when he was ten when he saw someone doing Jookin and was inspired ever since. He mixed ballet and Jookin together!

A: Lil Buck’s response to the question, “What does it take to be an innovator,” is this:
“Man, just a vivid imagination, drive, and um just passion for what you do because when you have all those, you’re just driven to, to make up new things.”
I feel that Lil Buck has lots of talent and creativity. He is one of those people who strives for excellence and doesn't beat himself up if he makes a mistake or messes up. Dancers mess up all the time. He’s not an perfectionist, but simply someone who puts his best effort into his gifts and unique talents. (Lil Buck practices Jookin 10 hours a day!)

Lil Buck performs the street dance Gangsta Walking.This Originated on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee. Other names for Gangsta Walking are: Jookin', G- Walk, Choppin and others.
How Difficult do you think his dance style would be to learn?
To start off Jookin' mostly Consists of gliding, break dancing, popping, and locking. I think that would be hard for me to perform. It could be very slow or face paced. I think some people are just naturally good at something, but then their passion for it makes it better.
What is your opinion of his dance and how did ballet influence him?
I think Lil Buck's dance style is original. I have't seen anyone do those kind of motions before. He doesn't just stick with one genre his dancing expands to others. Like Mrs O'Hara said don't only read one kind of book, because then you are limited to those. Lil Buck is only limited to what he wants to be. I think that ballet strongly helped and influenced him for his dance style today. I think his fluid motions need that other dance experience to help him.

He said it takes a "vivid imagination, drive, and um passion for what you do because when you have all of those, your just driven to make up things. I think that he is an innovator because his strong passion for music, and all the effort he puts into it. He doesn't stop until he is the greatest he can be. He practices 10 hours per day. Someone must really have passion for whatever they are doing if they spend that long doing it (unless it's sleep).

A: The style of dance that Lil Buck performs is called Jookin.
How difficult do you think his dance style would be to learn?
I think that for me, it would be quite difficult to learn. With practice, I might be able to learn some of the basic moves. However, I probably couldn’t do many of the more complicated moves and jumps.
What is your opinion of his style of dance and how did ballet influence him?
I think that Lil Buck’s style of dance is very interesting. It is smooth and fluent. I like how he doesn’t just dance to one type of music. I think that ballet really influenced his style of dance. From what I have heard, I gather that Lil Buck’s style of dance is more flowing than other types of Jookin because of the fact that he took ballet and because of the fact that he doesn’t just dance to regular Jookin music, he also dances to more classical music.
