To get ready for Christmas, my family and I put up our Christmas tree, and sing carols together (sometimes), as well as listen to Christmas music (I play it on the piano sometimes). We also decorate our house with different types of Christmas decorations. I also sometimes get involved in a Christmas play.
My family likes to listen to Christmas music while we sit around and eat dinner, and sometimes we read some passages from the Bible. We have 3 little purple candles and 1 pink one, so while we are decorating our Christmas tree (that we all pick out together) we light them, and listen to Christmas music on the radio. On Christmas eve, we all bake cookies together, and pour the milk and leave them out. We always go to the nativity play at St. Gabriels church, and sometimes we act in it too. My dad likes to play Christmas songs on the piano, and we all sing them together. We love to do all of these things, but it really fun because we’re doing it together.
We decorate a Christmas tree and our house. We also have those Advent calendars. We listen to Christmas music a lot during Advent. At my Romanian school we put a play about Jesus’s birth and sing Christmas carols. Then Santa comes and gives us presents. We make Christmas cookies and do every normal family does on Christmas.
To get ready for Christmas I usually do a lot of things. Almost every year I get an advent calendar to open up one box each day. I always put up my Christmas tree early except for this year though, since I’m doing renovations (in fact I just decorated my tree yesterday!) but we still work around it. We also go Christmas shopping for each other and then wrapping the gifts early to. My mom LOVES Christmas songs to so whenever I’m in the car or in the living room there is Christmas music playing. For me I like to play Christmas themed dubstep or electronic songs (not surprising) and I usually put snow all over my lego city display so it looks like Christmas there to :). Another non surprising fact is I like to play Christmas themed stuff on Minecraft or Pokemon ( Like playing Christmas mini games with my sister or using a full team of Ice types for wifi battling with my friend Iain. So in all I do A LOT around the holidays!
To get ready for Christmas, my family buys a tree from Ikea and lights four candles (even though we have to blow them out 2 minutes later so the cats don’t jump on them), and sometimes my brother tries to play a Christmas song on our keyboard. A few days before Christmas, my family drives to my grandparents’ house, and we stay there for Christmas Eve and we open presents there. I don’t know if we’re doing it this year, though, because my grandparents sometimes go to the U.S. in the winter.
In order to get ready for Christmas we need to be patient, as Jesus Christ is entering our daily lives. Decorating Christmas trees, Having a chocolate from an Advent calendar in the days leading up to Christmas, and giving gifts to others during the Christmas season is getting into the Christmas spirit. -Lucas
This what I do to get ready for Christmas. We bring up our plastic Christmas tree in our basement, and it already has lights on it which makes it easy to put in our living room. While someone else sets up the nativity, the rest of my family decorate the tree. We don't have an advent wreath for some reason, and we put cookies on the table before we go to bed.
These are some things that I do to get ready for Christmas:
My family and I pick a real Christmas Tree and bring it home (This year we tied to the roof rack on our truck , which we won’t do again. We had to pull over twice so we could straighten the tree, so it wouldn't fall off.)
We put up the tree, (while listening to our Christmas C.D.’s) decorate the tree as a family, and put a remote controlled train underneath they tree with a small village that lights up.
We put up the Christmas stockings.
Me and my dad put up the Christmas lights outside, and on the roof. (That’s right, I get to go up on the roof with my dad to put up the lights!)
We go to some Christmas and Advent parties.
My family has an Advent wreath, and every Sunday we put a new candle on it.
Also every Sunday we go to Church.
On Christmas eve, we have a family tradition: We go to our favourite sushi restaurant, then we go to Church for Christmas eve mass, after that we drive by this crazy house On Spruce Ave., that goes overboard with their Christmas lights every year; it’s crazy. Finally we put out milk and cookies for Santa. We are also usually allowed to open one present they night before.
To get ready for Christmas my family goes shopping for wreaths, stockings and tree decorations together, then we usually go down to the Christmas tree farm together, to pick out a tree. On the saturday closest to Christmas we all go down to my grandma’s house, and have a big Christmas dinner with all my aunts, uncles, and cousins. we all play together, and then open presents. That is my Christmas!
Some special things that my family do to get ready for Christmas are these: we put out an Advent wreath and light a candle every Sunday during Advent, we put up our Christmas tree on December sixth (St. Nicholas’ Day), and I have an Advent calendar to count down each day until Christmas. We also decorate the house and listen to Christmas music.
Well, every year, my family always puts up a Christmas tree, and the boys (my dad and my brother) set up and put up the tree, while the girls in the family (my mom, my sister and me) decorate the tree. Then my brother and I set up the Christmas train that goes around the tree and plays a cute little Christmas tune. Then my dad would set up the Christmas lights outside the house. And whenever my family eats, or in the morning when I wake up for school, we turn on the Christmas radio station on the iPad. And we usually go out for Christmas parties with family friends. And that’s pretty much it. Oh, and this year (this is new), my brother is participating in a Christmas pageant and they are acting out the birth of Jesus. He is the lead shepherd. And that’s it.
Me and Matthew make one of those foam 3-D gingerbread houses every year. We have about five right now, I guess. I also make some cool Christmas crafts for our Christmas tree. One time I made this cool little Origami Santa ornament. Matthew and my Mom usually put up the Christmas tree by themselves. (The branches make my hands itchy)
Special things to do in the waiting of Christmas This year my family and I went out to chop down our own tree (I helped to carry it). We also have parties (small ones) 2 or 3 times with our bigger family (Uncle, Aunt, Cousins and Cousins BoyfriendS) to celebrate the coming of christmas. We eat a lot and celebrate as one whole family. Also we have some family time, watch a nice movie and just spend time with each other. That is what I do for Christmas
Every year, usually two weeks before Christmas, my family and I get a Christmas tree and decorate it. When we finish the tree, we decorate the rest of the house. Every year, we put up our favourite wreath on the front door. It is green, with golden bells and silver stars. On Christmas Eve, we put out cookies and milk out on the coffee for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. I always have trouble sleeping on Christmas Eve and I ruin it for them on Christmas morning because I sleep in. In our family, we are not allowed to go down to open our presents until everyone is awake. On Christmas morning, before we go down to open our presents, we all go to our parents room to read “THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS”. When we have finish the book, we all go down and rip open our presents. Sometimes, my whole family comes over for a little Christmas party. That is how we celebrate Christmas ( USUALLY! ).
Me and my family, we like to go looking for the perfect tree and we tie it to the top of our car. when it get’s home we let it sit for 1 day and then we decorate it with christmas music playing in the background. We have an advent calendar every year and this year we have a elf on the shelf!
We play christmas music we put up christmas lights but since we have a 2 storey house we can’t anymore :( ,but on our front porch we have some!
We bake cookies with my grandma and put out cookies for Santa.
and we celebrate christmas eve by hosting or going to relatives for a feast and we host or our relatives host a christmas day party! and we clean our boots and put them outside and St. Nicholas (the patron saint of children) fills the boots with candy, chocolate, toys and cards! (collecting cards) on December 6th That’s it!
