To me, Lent means a time to give up something that I usualy have, which is called fasting. I usually give up something like any junk-food but this year I am giving up my Wii gaming system. (I already have an X-box. :3)and I am also giving up junk-food.
Lent means to me a time to repent and to give up something that you have a habit of doing or something you like for example: video games, basketball, movies, toys something that you almost can't live without. For Lent I am giving up homework--I am just joking. For Lent I am giving up chips, let's see how long I can last.
To me lent means giving something up to show that we are sorry for our sins. It also means showing that we are not exactly better than one another. I am giving up potatoes for lent
To me Lent means sacarafice of things you couldn't go without normally it also means that in 40 days Jesus died and gave himself up for us to be able to go to heaven when we die.
To me lent means giving up something, but not something like chocolate or ice cream. It also means giving to others too. For lent I'm giving up use of my left hand because my finger is broken so honestly there's not much I can do with that hand, except for using my thumb.
Lent is a time for love, compassion, community, fasting, respect, praying, almsgiving, and many more things. I think that Lent is a great way for people to feel a little more giving to the poor and needy. We all need to respect the fact that someone may have cooler shoes than someone else, but we all have our qualities and differences. Another thing is that we can make the World a better place by giving something up or trying to be extra nice. For Lent, I'm going to try to show more compassion to my family and friends. I believe this is a way to show that you care about others and that you're not so selfish and hating.
Lent means a time to remember that Jesus spend in the desert, and to do good for othes but not letting anyone know. (almsgiving) This year I am... (can`t tell, '...but not letting anyone know...') :)
Lent is about repentance the of our sins. It's a time to give up something you hold dearly or appreaciate a lot. Itcan also be a promise you make, like doing your homework as soon as possible. lent is basically telling you to stop focusing on yourself. People go through worse things than us every day, and we're just glad we're not that guy with Leperacy
To me Lent means giving up something and knowing God will help you through it like when Jesus was in the desert fasting for 40 days God kept him alive without God he wouldn't have lasted that long. For Lent I am giving up all ipods, iphones and ipads. Twice Mrs. O'Hara asked me to go on the ipad and even though I really wanted to I said "I can't" My friend is giving up Lent for Lent. I think she is lazy!
To me, Lent means Fasting, Almsgiving and Praying. This is to draw ourselves closer to God and to help us see the sacrafices Jesus made for us. It means being loving and caring (especilly if you usually aren't:D). It is a time to help the poor and less fortunate. Katherine
For me, the meaning of lent is not just giving up something, it is also about thinking of Jesus. If we just fast but not think about Him, then it is just pointless. I am going to give up drawing. It has been really hard since I am addicted to drawing. We will see how it goes... Dun dun dun...
Though I've never actually given something up for lent really I will this year I'm giving up grilled cheese which should be easy because I don't like grilled cheese. Lent to me is a time when you give something up to represent the time that jesus fasted in the desert for forty days and forty nights. I think that we should all fast before easter because at easter your going to eat as much chocolate that can go into your body so we can stay fit and so that we can try and be more like jesus
Lent is a time for fasting (giving up things that we usually have). I usually give up things like types of chips and wii, but this year I gave up chocolate. It's actually been working. Lent is also a time when you can try and stop a habit like biting your nails. -Lindsay ps that was really funny liv.
i think lent means a time to give up something that you want but can live without, such as a game, t.v., a computer, a food or an ipod. you can also promise to do something more. This year for lent I gave up chocolate and promised to pray more. Lent also is the 40 days leading up to Easter, the day Jesus gets risen up from the dead.

That was funny Chris (the homework comment). I would have to give up giving you good marks and I wouldn't want to do that.
