Teaching in the 21st Century

Think of our classroom at school.....specifically our chalkboard. "Even single-room schoolhouses in far rural areas of the country began enjoying the use of this innovative teaching tool. By the mid-1800s, a blackboard was to be found in almost every school and had become the single most important educational tool. Chalkboards remained the primary all-around educational fixture in schoolrooms and businesses for almost 200 years. Even the corkboard wasn't invented for presentations until 1891." Knowing that our chalkboard was probably being used over 100 years ago, watch the following video clip and write a short response as to how you see technology being used in the classroom. Be sure to indicate your initials and grade.

I think that every classroom should have a computer for each student. I like how your classroom has a smartboard.

It is shocking that we can not predict what is going to happen in five years. The world and technology are changing much faster now.

I totally agree at the rate of technology we cannot be sure, although some people do make predictions for the future. I read one about someone who predicted we would have labels on cans that will say expiration dates and more and guess who is working on that technology lab workers in England. But it really is true now we invent thousands of things in a year we have the technology and we are still learning how to use it for human benefits I do think though technology is not the best and we should always aknowledge things from the past like blackboards which have been used for ruffly 200 years mabye we could have something like that in the future but with a higher class more computer based in a way like a smart board.
